I didn’t fall…much

Hi All!

I hope you all had a great weekend and hopefully a not-so-terrible Monday. My weekend was fantastic! Remember how I mentioned I was going snowboarding? Well it was a total success! I managed to get down the mountain the first time without falling too much and by the third or fourth time, I managed to get down without falling at all! Sorry for all the exclamation points but I am so proud! I wish I had taken some pictures or videos with my camera but my boyfriend didn’t feel like having a photo shoot.

The day after, I could barely move but I figured it was kinda like my badge of honor. I can’t wait to go again. Next time, my goal is to learn to stop (and maybe learn to get off the lift without falling but we’ll take it one step at a time =P).

Not much crocheting happened this week. Nor was there a lot of organizing. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had much time to myself lately, and when I do, I take the opportunity for more sleep. For instance, instead of crocheting on the car ride home from Jack Frost Mountain, I got comfy and passed out.

Hopefully I’ll have some time tomorrow to get some stuff done but it depends on the weather. You see, there is a huge snowstorm that came in early today and will be in the area until about 3 or 4 AM; therefore, there could be a SNOW DAY! We are supposed to get about 10 – 12″ by the end of it although I don’t know how true that actually is. But hopefully we get enough that the roads stay bad and I don’t have to go to work. Don’t get me wrong, I really love working at my uncle’s shop, but I want to feel like a kid again and get a snow day. Granted, I probably won’t go outside and make a snowman like I did was little, but a little time to myself would be wonderful.

the heidi cowlI did complete one project so far this week. It was the “Heidi Cowl” by Melody Logan on Ravelry (it’s free!). It was a simple project but it came out really nice. I don’t usually use bulky weight yarn, but I had two balls of Bernat Alpaca yarn that I have had in my stash forever. I almost finished the whole project with one ball but the last round required yarn from the second. Now, I want to find another project that I can complete with the remaining yarn to match the cowl. I’m thinking I will probably make a hat. If you have any suggestions for free bulky yarn patterns, please let me know.
