I hope you all had a great weekend and hopefully a not-so-terrible Monday. My weekend was fantastic! Remember how I mentioned I was going snowboarding? Well it was a total success! I managed to get down the mountain the first time without falling too much and by the third or fourth time, I managed to get down without falling at all! Sorry for all the exclamation points but I am so proud! I wish I had taken some pictures or videos with my camera but my boyfriend didn’t feel like having a photo shoot.
The day after, I could barely move but I figured it was kinda like my badge of honor. I can’t wait to go again. Next time, my goal is to learn to stop (and maybe learn to get off the lift without falling but we’ll take it one step at a time =P).
Not much crocheting happened this week. Nor was there a lot of organizing. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had much time to myself lately, and when I do, I take the opportunity for more sleep. For instance, instead of crocheting on the car ride home from Jack Frost Mountain, I got comfy and passed out.
Hopefully I’ll have some time tomorrow to get some stuff done but it depends on the weather. You see, there is a huge snowstorm that came in early today and will be in the area until about 3 or 4 AM; therefore, there could be a SNOW DAY! We are supposed to get about 10 – 12″ by the end of it although I don’t know how true that actually is. But hopefully we get enough that the roads stay bad and I don’t have to go to work. Don’t get me wrong, I really love working at my uncle’s shop, but I want to feel like a kid again and get a snow day. Granted, I probably won’t go outside and make a snowman like I did was little, but a little time to myself would be wonderful.
I did complete one project so far this week. It was the “Heidi Cowl” by Melody Logan on Ravelry (it’s free!). It was a simple project but it came out really nice. I don’t usually use bulky weight yarn, but I had two balls of Bernat Alpaca yarn that I have had in my stash forever. I almost finished the whole project with one ball but the last round required yarn from the second. Now, I want to find another project that I can complete with the remaining yarn to match the cowl. I’m thinking I will probably make a hat. If you have any suggestions for free bulky yarn patterns, please let me know.
